U.S. satellite persists as lunar pathfinder to mitigate risk for future space programs.

CAPSTONE Contributes to a Resilient U.S. Space Architecture in Cislunar Space
Westminster, CO — Advanced Space, a leading space tech solutions company, announced today that their Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment (CAPSTONE) mission has successfully operated on-orbit around the Moon for a full year. Serving as an orbital pathfinder for the Gateway, the Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment (CAPSTONE™) spacecraft has operated successfully for almost 300 days. During that time, the CubeSat has demonstrated its key functions, entering and maintaining its unique orbit — a near rectilinear halo orbit (NRHO) — and operating a peer-to-peer navigation technology that incorporates relative tracking between two vehicles.
